When and where does the festival take place?

27 music festivals coming to Southern California in 2023

BeachLife Ranch, the sister festival of the alt-rock and reggae-oriented BeachLife Festival, will be back in Redondo Beach this year with Brad Paisley, The Doobie Brothers, Jack Johnson, Wynonna Judd, The Avett Brothers, Chris Isaak and more. Champions of the underground-leaning sound at Weekend One include lo-fi house phenom DJ Seinfeld, Detroit's pioneering DJ Minx, Netherlands export Franky Rizardo, and fabric resident Jaden Thompson.

Each resort has its own vibe, so guests can find a party and atmosphere that suits their tempo. A shuttle is also available to transport music fans to each of the host hotels so they can experience all the locations. The music and arts festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary and will have headliners Kendrick Lamar, The Killers, Odesza and Flume.

As summer is rapidly approaching, several more music festivals hitting Southern California and just beyond have been added to the 2023 calendar. Five years later, that “opposite experience” has become the prevailing sounds of global dance music, with Splash House again delivering a pair of cutting-edge and on-trend lineups for the thousands of fans arriving in the Southern California desert oasis. Jeremiah Clayton ‘26 makes a splash in his Wabash stage debut as Golden Thunder. Clayton arguably steals the show with his animated but natural stage presence.

Founded in 2013 by siblings Tyler and Kelly McLean, the three-day music festival kicks off two parties this summer on weekends August and August 18-20. The milestone 10-Year Anniversary edition of Splash House will see the multi-hotel pool party experience return for three weekends in 2023. The Renaissance, Margaritaville, and Saguaro hotels will be transformed into a dance music lovers’ paradise on June 9-11, August 11-13, and August 18-20, while the after hours programming will be hosted at the Palm Springs Air Museum once again. Splash House has evolved from a renegade poolside weekender into one of the most in-demand dance music festivals in North America, all the while retaining a distinct sense of style rooted in the culture and allure of Palm Springs. Vast desert landscapes and unique accommodations at the Renaissance, Margaritaville, and Saguaro Hotels converge with fashion-forward audiences and forward-thinking musical bookings to create a new way to experience the travel hotspot. Part pool party, part electronic dance music festival, Splash House kicks off this Friday, and the lineup features EDM favorites Chromeo, Armand Van Helden, The Knocks, Purple Disco Machine and many more.

Alex Schmidt ’27, who is quickly becoming a fan favorite on the Wabash stage, returns as Facebender, the eldest of the gang. Schmidt convincingly sells the verbose monologues of the Facebender persona, but makes ample room for vulnerability in serious moments. Schmidt and Clayton collide with electric chemistry, forming the comedic backbone of the cast. He never seems cartoonishly evil; rather, Strain plays up the thoughtlessness, portraying a man so caught up in his own reflection that those around him never even occur to him.

Catch its final two performances in the Fine Arts Center Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20 at 8 p.m. Kelli O’Neill stars as The Nina, the central protagonist and new initiate into the world of air guitar. Her grounded, naturalistic performance nicely contrasts with the colorful ensemble and positions her as the audience surrogate, learning more and more about a strange, wonderful subculture. The three-day waterfront music, art and wellness festival will return to Lake Perris with Big Wild, Griz, Louis The Child, Polo & Pan, Hippie Sabotage, What So Not, Blu DeTiger, Boombox, Mija and more. In addition to concerts, organizers are offering "Field Trips," aka experiences outside the pools and museum to help festivalgoers unwind and socialize. All experiences are available at an additional cost (with the exception of two that are free for all festivalgoers).

The easiest way to attend Splash House is to purchase an all-encompassing hotel package at the Renaissance, Margaritaville, Saguaro, or the off-site option, Hilton Palm Springs. This bundled package includes a three-night stay, GA passes for you and your group, and shuttle transportation between all venues. More details on hotel packages and the different room types are available via their website. Fresh off of a June edition that ignited Splash House's 10 year anniversary season, the August lineups continue to expand on the level of top tier electronic curation that makes the event a perennial favorite in the summer festival calendar. Set times were released Tuesday for the June edition of the popular Palm Springs music festival Splash House, which will feature more than 20 DJs spinning music at three resorts and the Palm Spring Air Museum this weekend.

Music will start in each resort at noon Sunday with music from Soul2Soul at the Renaissance — where Purple Disco Machine will close out the festival — Animolz at the Saguaro, and Kaya at Margaritaville. However, if you’re thinking this hard about “Airness,” you may have missed the point. The whole experience is unrepentant, weaponized cheesiness, and that’s to its credit. “Airness” is a gleeful celebration of the dorky wannabe rockstar in all of us.
